Don’t Make Camp in Your Valley

December 17, 2010 by dcamomile

Don’t make camp in any valley of chaos, uncertainty, low-living, fear, dysfunctional living, compromise, addiction, or trouble. God has destined us for great, and greater, things! Don’t allow yourself to wallow in valleys  of trouble. God has provided for our victory. God has given us mighty weapons. But we have to pick them up, try them out, practice with them, and use them until we become competent with them. We have to become qualified soldiers in God’s army, a force of His to be reckoned with, because we fight for His purposes! We have an arsenal of weapons – at …

Think Through Missed Opportunities for God – For Greater Blessings

December 11, 2010 by dcamomile

Do you want more of the Christian abundant-life? Do you want to know God more and experience more of the blessings and gifts that are ours in Jesus Christ? Take a look at this verse: “I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.”  Philemon 1:6 NIV 1984 The English Standard Version (ESV) says it this way: “…and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for …

Abundant God-Gifts We’re in Possession Of!

December 3, 2010 by dcamomile

What a glorious revealing glimpse of God’s goodness, the book of Ephesians is. But when I go to copy a verse or two, to share it here in my blog post, it doesn’t seem to do it justice and ring out with the glorious truth of the entire book! The first three chapters of Ephesians especially try to unveil the treasures that are ours – once we have given our lives to God through Jesus Christ. If you ever struggle like I do occasionally, with stressing over God’s do’s and don’ts, READ Ephesians. God wants to lavish on us – …

Moses’ Calling and Yours

November 23, 2010 by dcamomile

Do you ever feel like Moses? Sometimes I do. When Moses was young, he sensed that he had a purpose – he felt called by God to save his people. But when he took action, he did the wrong thing – majorly. He killed someone. Moses ended up fleeing to the desert for 40 years and learned a whole new set of lessons.(See Exodus 1-3.) God then stepped in, to finish the call that he had whispered into Moses’ life and heart years ago. But at this point, Moses no longer had confidence in his own flesh. He had not …

Free Book – The Dream Giver

November 18, 2010 by dcamomile

I’ve been giving away a lot of books lately, trying to pare down. I thought I would try something different with my copy of The Dream Giver by Bruce Wilkinson. I want to give it away to someone who would enjoy reading it. Would you like it? If so, send me a note. The first person requesting it – wins.

Acknowledge Your Grief, Cultivate His Promises and Hope

November 15, 2010 by dcamomile

Recently, I’ve lost some friends to death. I’ve also had friends who have lost loved ones. Last night, I attended another memorial service. The pastor shared that we were there to acknowledge our grief and to acknowledge our hope. I like the way he said that. In the midst of difficult days it is important to do both. It is important to admit our grief and then to acknowledge and cultivate our hope and faith. We are reminded of both in the Psalms – I pour out before him my complaint; before him I tell my trouble. Psalms 142:2 I …

Doing Stuff – or Knowing God

November 8, 2010 by dcamomile

Are you continually trying to do what you think is right and consequently, do you find yourself trying to force the world and others into your mold? Or are you trying to know and understand God a little more each day, in your own unique circumstances? I’ve been slow to get this, but I’m learning. Now, I try to remember in difficult circumstances to ask God – “What now, God?” Being out of my comfort zone is exactly what helps me to know God better. Otherwise I have my comfort – and that comforts me. It used to be, every …

God is Compassionate to those in Need

November 4, 2010 by dcamomile

God is compassionate to those in need. God saves the needy. What an amazing concept! This is exactly opposite from our culture that tells us to put our own self forward. It isn’t those who bring something to God. It is not those who have something to offer. It is those who come in need who find God. God doesn’t rejoice in those who come to Him with their goodness – for who can compare their “goodness” to the goodness of God? No matter how good someone is – God is more pure, more Holy, more  perfect, more just, more …
