I went downstairs for coffee early one morning at a conference in Denver and was very much looking forward to enjoying a quiet morning with God and His Word.
I settled into a roomy, comfortable chair with my coffee and papers, books and pens. (I always hope to travel light – but never quite pull it off.) Opening my books and settling back, I took a deep breath, enjoying my spot.
Just then two ladies came and decided that out of all the places they could sit, this was the perfect spot for the two of them – to talk. LOUD. Loud enough for me to hear every word. Trying to hold my frustration to myself that they were so loud, I sat in disbelief. I listened, too, because I could hear every word.
Loud Lady 1 brings out her mini-photo book. Yep – a major case of show and tell. It was all about her wonderful kids and their wonderful families.
Trying to process through my irritation and not get really mad at their lack of ability to talk softly or go elsewhere, the thought comes to me – God is like that with us!
God loves His children and is passionate about those who follow His ways and have His family resemblance. He thrills to hear His kids talking about Him and sharing Him with others. And the harder that child’s circumstances and the more they cling tightly to Him (shining brightly in the dark) He is passionate about them all the more.
And the LORD said…, “Have you considered my servant Job…, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” Job 1:8 NIV
Lord God, strengthen me to be faithful, because I want to be in your brag book.

I love this article/blog Robbi! I just love it. I love the way God speaks to you through your everyday life. I love the way you listen, how you’re able to quiet the noise long enough to hear God, the Creator of all of heaven and earth as He desires to speak to just you. And most importantly, I love your ability and willingness to share, it inspires and quiets my soul to the point where I begin to hear! And the LORD said…”Have you considered my serant Robbi…, a blameless and upright woman, because of the blood of the Lamb, who fears God and turns away from evil and faithfully shares the good news I share with her! Keep up the anointed work Robbi, it has blessed me today!
