Having a Plan Helped Me Read the Bible and Come to Love God More

By dcamomile | July 14, 2010 | Category: Read the Bible—Tips and Encouragement

Having a Plan

Having a Plan Helped Me

Some people make a decision to read the Bible straight through start to finish—and they do. They follow through exactly as they intended. (These are probably the same people that exercise every day, consistently, and never overspend their money.)

Personally, I need some sort of a plan. If not, I end up bouncing around. I want to read first over here, then there, then I don’t know where I am, and I quit for longer than is good for me. All this, for the want of a plan.

Years ago, I found The Best of Bible Pathway (3rd Edition, 1993), and love it. I love the way Dr. John Hash speaks with knowledge and authority and focuses simply on the Scripture. I’m able to read through the Bible without getting lost or giving up.

Personally, I’m not able to use the plans that have me reading in a multitude of places in the Bible each day. That’s too scattered for me and my brain. This plan helps me prepare my mind to focus on God’s Word.

I’ve come to love the Bible and gain insights and strength from it in ways I never would have without continuing to read God’s Word and stay in it. I’ve learned too, to add on to my daily reading or do extra study as I grow in meeting with God.

I love this particular edition, of this particular plan, so much, that I’m thrilled I have been able to bring it back to print titled, Building Faith with Bible Pathway.

Feel free to check out Building Faith, but there’s lots of reading plans and ideas out there. Besides plans, there are also 1-Year-Bibles and 90-Day-Bibles. You can search either online for reading plans or go to your local Christian Bookstore and browse their selections. (Don’t forget to ask God for His help – it’s His Word and He wants you to read it.)

Find a way that works for you. Then read the Bible all the way through and read it again. And again and again. Meet God in His Word.
